This is the first ever site on the Internet to just commemorate Reginald Alfred Varney, not just for his stage work, but for his piano playing, his excellent painting/drawing skils, and just his overall greatness!

Reg Varney was born on 11th July 1916, in Canning Town, London. Reg Varney lived a tipical life until he was 14. He was never allowed to play his Dad's piano, so when Reg was away he played on another piano and found his musical talent there. He told his Mum about this and when his Dad arrived home that night Reg started to play the piano. His Dad asked his Mum 'Who is that?' Mrs Varney replied, why not go and see who it is. So off Mr Varney walked, into the room where Reg was sitting playing the piano. He exclaimed, 'At Last a son who can play the piano'!
